An upcoming version of the Microsoft Edge browser for iOS will allow users to set it as the default browser on the iPhone.
The next major iOS update, which is expected to be announced today and become available for the iPhone 6s and newer by the end of the month, will finally allow users to change the default browser on their iPhones.
Testers had been given an early preview of the new Microsoft Edge redesign and its new features but it’s now, finally, available for all general users with today’s update on iPhone, iPod touch.

As reported by Neowin, Microsoft Edge will come with a new prompt to set it as the default browser on iOS. The update was released as part of the latest iOS beta and will become available for everyone on iOS 14.
After the new version of the browser is installed, Microsoft Edge displays a full-screen prompt that asks users if they want to set the app as the default browser.

“Links will automatically open in Microsoft Edge,” Microsoft explains, pointing users to the Settings app where they can select Microsoft Edge in the default browser app section.
