NEOWISE Comet, Rare comet NEOWISE India 2020: Comets do not have light of their own and what humans are able to see from Earth is the reflection of the sun’s light off the comet as well as the energy released by the gas molecules after it is absorbed from the sun. Comet NEOWISE (aka C/2020 F3) was discovered on March 27 by astronomers during the NEOWISE mission, which used NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) space telescope to look for near. NEOWISE, a comet from the most distant part of our solar system, is temporarily passing through Earth’s orbit, and scientists say it won’t be back for another 6,800 years.
